We hope you enjoy your visit with us as you explore our club and the fun and work we do in West Newbury, Mass.
We are a very sociable group of about 60 gardeners of all levels and ages from
West Newbury and the neighboring towns who meet once a month for
fun, food, friendship, and facts. We learn about plants, flowers,
garden design, and conservation, share ideas and laughter, and conduct
the business of the club. We bring a willingness to help, our expertise,
our curiosity, and a sense of camaraderie to all our activities.
We are a working club; that is, Club members make a commitment to attend at least
3 meetings per year, serve on a work committee (physically active
or sedentary), share the hostess duties for refreshments at one meeting
per year, and work on our annual fund-raiser, the locally famous
Plant Sale. We become better friends for working together, and contribute
to the beauty and viability of West Newbury.
The purpose of the Club is to encourage and cultivate an interest
in gardening, to aid in the protection and conservation of natural
resources, to encourage the study of horticulture and flower arranging,
and to promote civic beauty. |
